Citizen-Only Voting Constitutional Amendment on 2024 Ballot

For those that have questions about the NC Constitutional Amendment on this year's ballot, it effectively clarifies the current constitutional language stating that only U.S. Citizens may vote in North Carolina elections.

The Amendment states

"Only a citizen of the United States who is 18 years of age and possessing the qualifications set out in this Article, shall be entitled to vote at any election by the people of the State, except as herein otherwise provided."

It updates the current language

"Every person born in the United States and every person who has been naturalized is 18 years of age and possessing the qualifications set out in this Article, shall be entitled to vote at any election by the people of the State, except as herein otherwise provided."

The NCGOP was actively engaged in this important issue and commends both the N.C. House of Representatives and N.C. Senate for their support and votes.  For further details check out the NCGOP Press Release from July 1st here,
